WE FOCUS ON EFFICIENCY TO REDUCE YOUR COST

Steam generation is a very important part of many manufacturing processes. It often represents a large portion of the operating cost to produce finished goods. Several effective technologies are available to optimize the boiler and will yield significant increases in efficiency, resulting in lower operating cost and increased profitability.

However, recapturing lost heat is often overlooked. Waste heat in the flue gas can be captured and recovered using advanced yet proven technology. This free heat source can be used to pre-heat the boiler make-up water or to produce hot water for use in the processing plant. You can expect the following results from a DCI "Direct Contact" heat recovery system:

  • Significantly reduce steam demand in the de-aerator system
  • Increase steam capacity of the boiler
  • Dramatically reduce fuel consumption
  • Provide plant hot water without consuming steam from the boiler

Improving efficiency and recovering waste heat provides a significant and permanent reduction in fuel consumption and operating cost. Our goal is to help you reduce your cost of operation.

  • Effective Programs Improve Profits
  • Total Performance Audits Identify Savings

We study your boiler system to understand its demands and where improvements in heat recovery can be made. A flue gas heat recovery custom designed by Direct Contact, Inc. (DCI) to meet the needs of your application can be very cost effective. Heat recovery is effective and viable in application where:

  • There is less than 85% condensate return to the boiler
  • The boiler has a high blow down rate (over 15%)
  • There is a plant demand for hot water

We offer site specific surveys to determine the cost effectiveness of a heat recovery system in your application. A detailed economic analysis is then presented to your staff. An effective heat recovery program can have a very significant impact on your operating cost.

Improving your boiler system starts with a survey to understand your system and determine your operating base line. From there, we study all aspects of your system, including your water quality, operating conditions, pre-treatment systems, heat loss and bottlenecks in your process. We then select the best technology to reduce or eliminate those bottlenecks. Weschem has the tools to provide you with the right treatment for the right situation. Our focus is to improve your efficiency and reduce your operating cost. Our "Total Performance Audit" enables us to work with your staff to achieve these goals.
